World Aquanaut Security Patrol

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

The World Aquanaut Security Patrol, abbreviated as W.A.S.P. and colloquially known as the Wasps, was the first section of the World Security Council. It was commanded by Sam Shore and its main base was Marineville. (PROSE: This is 2065)

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

In January 2065, Stingray responded to calls for help from the captain of the submarine aircraft carrier S.A.3. following sightings of monster jellyfish. (COMIC: Genesis of Evil) However, Marineville lost contact with Stingray after it was attacked by a Titan Terror Fish, (PROSE: Stingray Attacked!) resulting in Commander Shore placing the WASP station on Orange Standby. (COMIC: Genesis of Evil) Later reports confirmed that several submarine aircraft carriers which had fallen under Titan's control were heading for the U.S. Western Seaboard, in direct line with Marineville itself. (COMIC: Power Play) An attack soon materialised, with "salvo after salvo of rockets" being fired from the aircraft carriers into Marineville's surface installations. Meanwhile, the crew of Stingray found themselves trapped in an undersea cavern by Titan's jellyfish. (PROSE: Titan Declares War!) Shore held off offensive measures for a little while in the hope Stingray would be able to resolve the situation but acknowledged this prospect was remote and promised that "calculated destruction" of the aircraft and their WASP pilots (whose participation in the attacks was involuntary) would commence in a further two hours. (PROSE: Marineville Waits!) This affair was documented in various instalments of TV Century 21, including on four front pages. (PROSE: Stingray Attacked!, Fireball Surrenders!, Titan Declares War!, Marineville Waits!)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
