Marina (Curse of the Crustavons)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Marina was the occasional third member of the Stingray crew.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

In early 2065, while Marineville was being bombarded by Strike Aircraft piloted by some of their own men who had fallen under the control of Titan, Commander Shore told a reporter for TV Century 21 he could hold off on offensive measures for only another two hours in the hope that Stingray could resolve the situation. However, he accepted this possibility was remote as the continued radio silence from Troy Tempest and his crew likely indicated they were themselves in deadly peril. (PROSE: Marineville Waits!) In the time leading up to the assault on Marineville, Stingray had been attacked by a Titan Terror Fish (PROSE: Stingray Attacked!) and trapped in an undersea cavern by Titan's jellyfish. (PROSE: Titan Declares War!)

Marina did not accompany Tempest and Phones Sheridan when they were tasked with tracking down the assassins of the 610th Kaplan, who had escaped from Unity City by underwater craft, because the mission was considered too dangerous. (COMIC: Stingray)

Marina later sent a message in Morse code which indicated that Troy and Phones had successfully forced entry into Aquatraz. (COMIC: Plague of Death)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

Marina originated from the television series Stingray where she was voiced in the episode Raptures of the Deep and the audio play Marina Speaks by Sylvia Anderson. Although Marina was normally a silent character, in the former Troy Tempest experiences a hallucination in which Marina converses with him telepathically and in the latter Marina details her origins, explaining that her people are capable of speech but due to a curse placed on them by Titan one of them dies every time another says a word.
