Chinese Communist Party

A Communist party was the leading political party in China by the mid-20th century.

The Communist movement came from the Soviet Union to the north of China. When Chiang Kai-shek took over the Nationalist Kuomintang, he launched several expeditions against the Communist insurgents, which drove them into the mountainous north and central China. Fighting between the Nationalists and Communists continued into 1937. (PROSE: The Shadow of Weng-Chiang)

Communist China existed by 1951 and was involved in the Korean War. (PROSE: Endgame)

Circa the 1960s, the HMS Hallaton was equipped to defend Hong Kong from Communist China. (PROSE: Island of Death)

Major Barker suspected power losses were caused by communists. When the Third Doctor asked if they were Chinese or Russian communists, Barker said there was "no difference between them". (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Cave-Monsters)
