The People's Party was a political party active on Earth in the 26th century. They were in power by 2540, having been elected to government on pledges to promote peace with Draconia after the recent war of 2520. They were led by the President of Earth, (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Space War) Dora. (AUDIO: The Transcendence of Ephros) Stewart voted for her. (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Space War)

Their grip on power was threatened when the Daleks and the Master both conspired to draw the Earth Empire and Draconian Empire into another war against each other. Congressman Brook, the Leader of the Opposition, was among the most prominent voices calling for Dora's removal when she was perceived as being too lenient on the Draconians. The true deception was soon exposed, (TV: Frontier in Space) leading to the Second Dalek War. (PROSE: Love and War, Deceit)

The Peace Party traditionally supported the People's Party when it pursued policies which promoted peace, but would turn to opposition if they felt the People's Party was straying too far from this line. During the crisis with Draconia, some members of the Peace Party were sent to the Lunar Penal Colony on the Moon. The Third Doctor later appealed to Dora to have them released.
