SDP
The SDP was a British political party.
In 1984, a security guard did not allow in politicians in his building, regardless of if they were Tories, Labour, or SDP. (PROSE: The Clanging Chimes of Doom)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
In the real world, the SDP is an abbreviation for the Social Democratic Party. It was founded by a group of breakaway Labour MPs known as the 'Gang of Four'. This group included Shirley Williams and Roy Jenkins, both of whom have been referenced in DWU media. However, their link to the SDP has not been mentioned.
Actor John Cleese was a supporter of the SDP following its formation in 1981, and recorded party political broadcasts for them. He remains a supporter of the SDP's modern incarnation.[1]
