Chaos (mythology)

Chaos was a primordial entity in Greek mythology. In the beginning, "something very definitely happened" to set the universe in motion. This certainly had "something to do with" Chaos, but as no one was was taking notes at the time, later records were muddled. This event also involved either Gaia, her daughter Tethys, or Tethys's daughter Eurynome; even the Olympian gods were uncertain about the days "before great Zeus did whatever he did to Kronos that made time run wild and free."
