Ty Baxter, who portrayed Petruchio in Shakespeare's Shrew, flees from Robert Greene's attack with Liz Golding. (COMIC: A Groatsworth of Wit)
Petruchio

Petruchio was a character in William Shakespeare's play The Taming of the Shrew. (COMIC: A Groatsworth of Wit, PROSE: The Stranger, The Writer, His Wife and the Mixed Metaphor)

In a 21st century film adaptation of the play entitled Shakespeare's Shrew, Petruchio was played by Ty Baxter. The film's plot involved Petruchio attempting to "tame" a female character. In an interview with Liz Golding for the film's premiere at the Empire Cinema, Baxter said the battle of the sexes was "an eternal theme" and that Shakespeare had "a lot to say about how men and women relate".
