Sir Bedevere was a Knight of the Round Table.

Biography

As a Knight of the Round Table

In his original lifetime, Bedevere knew Merlin and King Arthur. (PROSE: The Door We Forgot) He, Agravaine and Gawain were tasked by Merlin with confronting the entity known as Morch'aliach in its cave and destroying it. After a four-day ride, they joined the wizard Ganeida, Merlin's own sister, who helped them in their confrontation with the creature. However, they left the job half-done, with Agravaine causing a rockslide that sealed the creature into the cave but did not destroy it. (PROSE: A Honeycomb of Souls)

Adrift in time

Bedevere stayed with King Arthur til the end, witnessing his King's death at Camalan. (PROSE: The Door We Forgot) At some later point, due to "an incident with a witch", Bedevere was transformed into a ghost-like entity, perpetually drifting between time zones and realities based on things like the phases of the moon. Eventually, during one of his spells in the 21st century, he came to Preternatural Research Bureau's attention as part of an event to which Agamya Akhtar referred as "the Origin Zero incident". (PROSE: A Honeycomb of Souls)

With P.R.O.B.E.

This section's awfully stubby.

Needs information from What Lurks in the Shadows & Preternatural Nights

Becoming a "temporary guest" at P.R.O.B.E. HQ, (PROSE: The Door We Forgot) Bedevere principally spent his time snacking on the Bureau's supplies in the break-room, at least when he was corporeal enough to touch them. (PROSE: A Honeycomb of Souls) "A few months" after the Stacey Facade incident (AUDIO: Broken Bonds) which had occurred in February 2019, (WC: Stacey Facade) a fully-corporeal Bedevere assisted in the fight against the destructive organisation known as Beltane. Following Giles as he chased one Beltane agent through Oxford Street, he subdued her just as she was about to take Giles by surprise and stab him. Giles, intent on following someone else for entirely different reasons, told Bedevere to wait for Tasha to catch up with them, and then to take the prisoner back to HQ.

Later on, Maxie accompanied Tasha and Giles to Modernex Labs to confront Beltane, who had broken in to steal the Ogden Farm sample; when the P.R.O.B.E. and Beltane members found themselves at an armed stand-off, it was Bedevere who broke the tension and led to all hell breaking loose, throwing a dagger at one of the Beltane members with a cry of "for Arthur!". Tasha was wounded in the shootout, though lightly, and despite his unfamiliarity with mobile phones, it fell to Bedevere to call her an ambulance. (AUDIO: Broken Bonds)

As related in a video diary recorded by Giles on 1 June, Varunastra turned into a pen after Giles told Bedevere that the pen was mightier than the sword. Giles had been concerned about Bedevere running around with a broadsword. (WC: Varunastra)

Bedevere had been incorporeal or absent for some time when Azacca Dixon first joined P.R.O.B.E., leading to him being quite startled when they were eventually introduced. Bedevere rematerialised just in time to meet Ganeida, who had travelled to the 21st century to ensure the Morch'aliach was actually defeated for good. Upon first approaching the entity's lair, Bedevere, due to the nature of his condition, briefly found himself drifting into its realm, getting a nightmarish glimpse of its true form, though he soon returned. He was later instrumental to defeating it: although his stabbing of it with his broadsword initially seemed ineffective, Ganeida was able to exploit it and the entity's nature to summon a memory of the Knights of the Round Table and King Arthur himself to the entity's pocket realm, who managed to weaken it enough for Ganeida to finish it off. (PROSE: A Honeycomb of Souls)

Later, he was reading a copy of Wuthering Heights when the PROBE team dealt with an Algea in their headquarters. (PROSE: The Door We Forgot)
