Christmas on Skaro?[2] was a series of short, holiday-themed, promotional videos created for broadcast on BBC One during the Christmas season of 2010.

The idents consisted of one thirty-second main video, and a ten-second video. They featured a crossover between Doctor Who and the BBC comedy sketch show Come Fly with Me, which premiered following A Christmas Carol on 25 December, with Matt Lucas and David Walliams starring as check-in assistants Keeley St Clair and Melody Baines.

Official synopsis

A couple of familiar faces encounter a surprising traveller heading home for Christmas.

Plot

30-second video

At the Fly-Lo airport, a customer is booking a flight. When asked by Keeley if he is carrying any metal object or firearms, the customer, a Dalek, answers in the negative. The Dalek identifies his destination as Skaro, which Melody believes is near Mykonos. Melody hands the Dalek his boarding pass. The Dalek takes the pass with his suction cup before moving on.

10-second video

The Dalek, carrying three bags with his manipulator arm, is moving through the airport, his eyestalk turning to a pair of air stewardesses as they walk by.

Notes

  • Melody's mention of Mykonos' being near Skaro could be interpreted as a reference to the planet Mechanus.
