Publisher's summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
When the Doctor, Polly, and Ben arrive in Lewes in the late 1950s, they’re just in time to celebrate Guy Fawkes’ Night. But there’s no fun on the streets tonight – the town is in the grip of fear. There are imps on the loose in Lewes, the Bonfire Boys are on the march, and nobody is safe from the fire.

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The narration is shared between both Polly and Ben. This is therefore the first Companion Chronicle to be told, albeit partially, from Ben's perspective, and the first instance in which the companion relating the events of the story was not played by their original actor.
Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The timeline becomes distorted as the Doctor prompts his companions out of the TARDIS. (AUDIO: Fields of Terror, Across the Darkened City) The Time Lords attempt to fix the distortion, caused by the Daleks from the Time War as they invade the First Doctor's timeline, (AUDIO: Volume Two trailer) but this plan apparently fails as the Doctor, Ben and Polly continue to travel together rather than immediately going to the South Pole. (AUDIO: The Plague of Dreams)
- The Doctor mentions Anne Chaplet when talking about religious persecution. (TV: The Massacre)
