Paulina was a character in William Shakespeare's play The Winter's Tale.

In Act V Scene III, the chapel at her house was visited by Leontes and his daughter who wished to see a statue of the dead Hermione. Paulina was present to unveil the statue for them which was in actuality Hermione herself who was not dead at all, a fact revealed later in the scene. In an alternative draft of the play, it was a strange physician who made the discovery though before doing so he accused Paulina of being "as bad as Julius Grayle" because she kept curtained statues hidden from view.
