Colin Alone (audio story)
Colin Alone was the second audio story in Among Us 1.
Publisher's summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
Colin Colchester-Price has been left behind. But he's kept calm and he's carried on. He knows his husband is out there, saving the world for Torchwood. And he'll comeback for him. One day. Soon. Surely.
Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
Colin is repeatedly questioned by Jeff and Mira about the last time he saw Mr Colchester as well as his own recent financial transactions and internet activity, making him late for work at Bayside Foodbank. He believes that he is being surveilled by people including a window washer and somebody in the supermarket, but Jeff and Mira claim ignorance and continue to question him about his husband and his meeting with former KVI head Ilya Goloshchyokin in Sydney. Without a login at work because of his paperwork and safeguarding checks being yet to arrive, Colin is given Sophie's to sort out the stationery order.
Upon returning home and finding a leak, Colin is told by the building manager that his service fee is outstanding and asks Jeff and Mira for help as they have evidence that the fee was paid, but they refuse because of GDPR and show him a video of Mr Colchester killing fugitive cryptocurrency traders with a gun purchased from Goloshchyokin. He is mugged after an evening in the Red Dragon with his colleagues, finds his safeguarding form in the foodbank's recycling, is unable to resolve his service fee without his mobile phone and comes to believe that Jeff and Mira are making his everyday life increasingly difficult. They deny this and question him about searches on his phone relating to anthrax and bomb-making.
Colin is ignored by his colleagues, which Kieran explains is because he ignored a text from them inviting him to the pub nextdoor to the Red Dragon, accused by Sophie of accessing personnel files and fired because of inappropriate search terms on his mobile phone detailed in his safeguarding check. He breaks down after the lights in his flat are switched off for health and safety reasons, he receives a complaint from downstairs about the flooding and his debit card is declined at the supermarket.
At Colin's meeting with Jeff and Mira, Mr Colchester sets off a bomb and kills the two of them in a gunfight, rescuing his husband and getting him out of the building and into a car before the building is destroyed by a second charge. He explains that Jeff and Mira were working for something dangerous which is looking Torchwood and that he will have to leave after getting Colin to safety, but he promises not to be too far away.
