An inn was a business that offered food and lodging.

The Doctor visited at least two different Fox Inns. In Scotland, the Fox Inn was used as temporary headquarters for UNIT while they and the Fourth Doctor investigated attacks on nearby oil rigs. (TV: Terror of the Zygons) The Eighth Doctor was unable to find the Fox Inn in Stockbridge prior to meeting Izzy Sinclair for the first time. (COMIC: Endgame) The Redfern Inn was also located in Stockbridge. (COMIC: Stars Fell on Stockbridge, Endgame)

The First Doctor, Ian Chesterton, Vicki Pallister, Isabella and Geoffrey Chaucer went looking for Barbara Wright at the Tabard Inn. They learnt that she had been reciting The Canterbury Tales to audiences, and the performances improved the inn's trade. (AUDIO: The Doctor's Tale)

Polly Wright and the Second Doctor spent some time in disguise at the Sea Eagle Inn, trying to discover the fate of the Annabelle, a slave ship to which Jamie McCrimmon and Ben Jackson had been taken. (PROSE: The Highlanders)

The Tenth Doctor claimed it was he who got the last room at the inn during the first Christmas. (TV: Voyage of the Damned)

In the 15th century Sair, Peri Brown had drinks with Tablibik at an inn. (PROSE: Fascination)

In 1601, William Shakespeare and Richard Burbage had a discussion at an inn near the Globe Theatre which was interrupted by the Fifth Doctor. (PROSE: Diary Extract)
