Jack Reed

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Jack Reed was an agent for the Universal Secret Service who often worked with Twenty One following the death of Tina.

In 2047, he observed the testing of Twenty One's newly-invented deadly flies, which were to be used for World Senate security patrol. Reed and Twenty One protected the Saturnian delegates. He discovered that one of the flies had malfunctioned and attempted to summon it using the control box but the rogue fly attempted to kill Twenty One as his image was in its damaged memory banks. He suffered a wrenched arm but he was still able to dive for the fly and destroy it with a swat. Reed told Twenty One he was glad the affair was over though he asked him if he was joking, bringing up the hardest part that was yet to come, the official inquiry. (COMIC: Deadly Fly)

When Twenty One was to be handed over to SOFRAM in exchange for them not destroying London with a planatomic missile, Jack was briefed on the situation and sent to locate the submarine with the missiles as Twenty One's absence could not be risked. He was whisked to Marineville in an atom jet and then took Inner Space 1 to the coast of Vancouver to search for the ship. Upon finding it, he swapped the explosive bit of his spinning top for knockout gas and successfully deployed it against the SOFRAM agents before Twenty One was handed over to them in New York. He waited for the World Government troops to arrive and helped to arrest the head of SOFRAM, although he and Twenty One were later given the near-impossible task of protecting him until the government investigation committee could meet.

After some time, Twenty One and Jack collected the head of SOFRAM from World Army Camp David in Canada where he was being held. They organised a convoy to move at night but their car was soon run off the road. The chase continued without them. The trio took the overnight bus to Crassville and then boarded a goods train on the trans-America monorail. SOFRAM blew up a section of railway but they nevertheless continued in their carriage and briefly escaped the SOFRAM agents down a mountain. Jack got stuck in a bear trap resulting in their prisoner seeing a chance of escape; Twenty One pursued him while Jack was incapacitated. Jack was able to throw knockout gas as Twenty One and the head of SOFRAM were about to be killed by other SOFRAM agents. Upon everyone awaking, there was a brief battle with the SOFRAM agents but their gunshots caused an avalanche which resulted in their deaths and the trio boarded an aircraft to complete their journey although it was later shot down by more enemy agents. However, their mission failed when the SOFRAM leader jumped in front of a bullet aimed at Twenty One to protect the secrets within his head. Jack and Twenty One received a grilling from the World President for their efforts, telling them that the fiasco would go down as a black mark on their confidential files. (COMIC: An Eye For An Eye)
