Originally broadcast in 1967 as part of Doctor Who season 4, The Faceless Ones has been the subject of a number of reference books, articles and other works. These may be useful as a springboard for research, or to assertain opinions regarding The Faceless Ones at the times of these works' publications.

September 1982 Doctor Who: An Adventure in Space & Time: The Faceless Ones Fanzine David Auger, J. Jeremy Bentham, John Bok, Tim Robins, Trevor Wayne CyberMark Services An amateur fanzine, this issue being dedicated entirely to The Faceless Ones. Included a summary of the story from the perspective of the Doctor, a short story based on part of the serial, a review of the story by Tim Robins, an article (titled "The Sailor and the Deb") on Polly Wright and Ben Jackson by David Auger and Trevor Wayne, a set of technical observations on the story's recording and special effects, broadcast dates, comprehensive cast and crew credits, original artwork and some photos (including a production photo and a very low quality still from episode 1).
