30 St Mary Axe, often simply referred to as the Gherkin, was a building in London. Construction work on the tower was completed in 2004, including the fitting of over 24000 square metres of glass. It was 40-storeys high and stood at a height of 180 metres. When it was built, it was considered one of the tallest buildings in London, and had a 360-degree view over the city.
