A48
The A48 was a major road which ran from at least the west of England to South Wales. It interlinked with the M4. (TV: The Categories of Life)

Part of the A48 was located just west of Gloucester, from where it ran south-west, roughly parallel to the River Severn. It passed through Blakeney on the south-eastern outskirts of Dean Forest Park, then crossed the Welsh border. (TV: The Categories of Life)
Part of the A48 swerved west upon approach towards the Bristol Channel and went through Bonvilston then swerved north-west. It then passed through both Bridgend and Pyle, before meeting with the M4 at junction 38. (TV: The Categories of Life, PROSE: Bay of the Dead)
Part of the A48 continued from the termination of the M4 at junction 49. It ran north-west, swerving west through Cross Hands and terminated at Carmarthen where it crossed the Afon Tywi and joined the A40. (TV: The Categories of Life)

In the late 2000s, Joe Hargreaves, along with his wife Jackie, was driving along the A48 from Llandaff to his home in Cowbridge when the pair were caught in a thick bank of fog. Joe crashed the car during a collision with a lopsided figure. (PROSE: Bay of the Dead)
