Black Archive (global collection)
The Black Archive was UNIT's international archive of alien artefacts, being the collective collection of numerous facilities connected by T-Mat. By one account, when a UNIT operative referred to the singular Black Archive, they meant this overall international collection. (GAME: The Black Archive [+]Loading...["The Black Archive (game)"])
History[[edit] | [edit source]]
The Black Archive began as the Curator began to accumulate objects during his work with UNIT in its early days. The Curator had Black clearance, the highest level within UNIT, and the Archive was named due to the black badges which would be attached to artefacts to indicate they were in the Curator's purview.
The original location of the Black Archive was within a storage locker. For a time after that, the Curator stored it in a custom jumbo jet.
As the collection grew, the Curator eventually established facilities across the Earth to keep the Archive. By the 2010s, these facilities included Black Archive, Tower of London in London, Black Archive, Seabase One in the Mariana Trench, Black Archive, Gateway of India in Mumbai, the Central Archive in Geneva, Black Archive, Peter and Paul Fortress in St Petersburg, Black Archive, Cuzco in Cuzco, Black Archive, Pharos in Alexandria, Black Archive, Shanghai World Financial Centre in Shanghai, Black Archive, Snowcap at Snowcap, Space Station W1, Black Archive, Washington Monument in Washington DC, and Black Archive, Statue of Liberty in New York City. Following the defunding of UNIT in 2020, the extensive memory wipe security of the global Black Archive meant that it was largely forgotten by all except a few former high-ranking personnel. The status of the Black Archive's contents became largely unknown. (PROSE: The Roleplaying Game: Second Edition [+]Loading...["The Roleplaying Game: Second Edition"])
