Frank's father (Alabama's Blue Box)
Frank's father was a former San Francisco police officer.
He was on duty on New Year's Eve 1999, when a shooting occurred in an alley. An "old guy" was caught in the crossfire and transported to Walker General. Sent to the crime scene, Frank's father saw a British police box present which had not been there a few hours earlier. CSI photos and medical personnel all remembered seeing the police box, but the officer's captain thought they were "crazy". When the captain visited the alley himself, the box was gone.
He retired after 22 years and moved to Sacramento with Frank's mother. He missed the Golden Gate, "his" café in Vallejo and the Bay community, but did not miss having to deal with "rich jerks" in Potrero Hill.
Frank later recounted his father's story in the comments of the Into The Unknown blog, in response to an article about an anachronistic police box sighting in Alabama. (PROSE: Alabama's Blue Box [+]Loading...["Alabama's Blue Box (short story)"])
