Mother Tarra was a member of Faction Paradox. She hailed from a heavily polluted colony world in the end days of man's empire, where she was raised by her abusive father. She was taken in by Faction Paradox, who promised her revenge and gave her the opportunity to kill her father over and over again, forcing him to suffer the very abuse he had inficted on her. She served the Faction for centuries, casting away her original name and attaining the rank of Mother. As part of the Faction plot to take over Gallifrey, she murdered a young Gallifreyan woman named Tarra and assumed her identity, then murdered Tarra's father, High Councillor Kandarl.
Now fully ensconced in her disguise, Tarra recruited several young Gallifreyan Academy students and formed a coven to advance the Faction's plans for Gallifrey. She killed Kaufima to complete the summoning of Father Kreiner, then followed Grandfather Paradox when he attempted a take-over of Gallifrey. (PROSE: The Ancestor Cell)
