  • Facing the Dalek Time Controller, the Doctor quips that Thomas Appleton was wrong: "he should have said 'when good Daleks die, they go to Paris.'"

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • In the behind-the-scenes documentary, Matt Fitton cites the film Moulin Rouge! as inspiration for the story, a film which similarly follows a young artist struggling in Montmartre in the early 20th century.
  • The Dalek fires its laser weapon in the corridor of pipes, fire rushing in front of it. The Doctor stands at the bottom of a set of stairs, a decorated chandelier above him. Caption reads, "Thomas Appleton was wrong. He should have said 'When good Daleks die, they go to Paris.'"
