In the Unbound Universe, "the Renegades" was a term used by said universe's Davros to refer to one of the two races of Daleks he created on Skaro to end the Kaled-Thal War.

History[[edit] | edit source]

Creation and abandonment of Skaro[[edit] | edit source]

In the Unbound Universe, Davros ended the Kaled-Thal War, a conflict secretly provoked by the Quatch following their first failed attempt to conquer said universe's Skaro, by creating two races of Daleks. The first Dalek race he created (AUDIO: Masters of War) were highly reminiscent of the Daleks created by the Davros of N-Space; (TV: Genesis of the Daleks et al.) undoubtedly believing that they were the supreme beings of the Unbound Universe, and that all other lifeforms were to be destroyed, this race of Daleks attempted to kill Davros upon their creation, although the Kaled scientist ultimately survived these attempts on his life. Eventually, this race of Daleks abandoned Davros and Skaro to instead conquer and destroy all life in the Unbound Universe, leading Davros to refer to them as "the Renegades", and begin focusing more on the development of his second race of Daleks, whom Davros desired to be strong and intelligent, but loyal to their creator.

The Unbound Doctor had numerous encounters with "the Renegades" prior to travelling to Skaro with Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart. Alistair himself encountered several of "the Renegades" on Earth in 1972, during which three "Renegades" exterminated forty-three UNIT personnel serving under him.

Legacy[[edit] | edit source]

During the Quatch Empire's second attempt at conquering the Unbound Universe's Skaro, the Unbound Doctor confronted Davros onboard the Quatch mothership, where the two briefly discussed "the Renegades", as well as Davros' second race of Daleks. (AUDIO: Masters of War)
