The Weakest Link has had several collaborations with the Doctor Who universe.

The earliest of these occurred in Children in Need 2003 [+]Loading...["Children in Need 2003 (TV story)"], which also crossed over with Dead Ringers' versions of Doctor Who characters.

A futuristic version of The Weakest Link appeared in the series 1 episode, Bad Wolf [+]Loading...["Bad Wolf (TV story)"], where it was among the various reality television shows produced and broadcast from the Game Station in the year 200,100. Its appearance is unique among cultural references within the Doctor Who universe for its explicit usage of the real show's trademarks, such as the show's interface and theme music. This version of the series has a similar format to its real life counterpart, albeit with a sinister twist: everyone on Earth was a potential contestant, being picked at random by the station's Transmat beam against their will, with the losers seemingly being disintegrated, in an antechamber approximating the position of the house's front door, with it later being revealed that they are actually being transported to the Dalek Emperor's flagship where they became part of the growing Dalek army. In the story, the show is presented by the Anne Droid, voiced by the real world Anne Robinson.

The episode saw Rose Tyler being made to compete on the series, seemingly getting disintegrated after being declared the "Weakest Link". It was later revealed that she was not dead, but was being held on the Dalek flagship. In The Parting of the Ways [+]Loading...["The Parting of the Ways (TV story)"], the Anne Droid was used to battle the invading Daleks, although it was quickly destroyed.

A special edition of the show was later aired in 2007, featuring several members of the cast of the revival series.
