Vinay Siddiqui
Vinay Siddiqui was the husband of Harry Mortimer.
Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]
Vinay's grandmother ran a newsletter for him and her other grandchildren. After she learnt that he had entered into a relationship with Harry Mortimer, the two of them were headline news in her newsletter for three months. Vinay loved Hideaway and was disappointed that Harry wished to sell it. In 2014, they moved there to fix it up and sell it on.
Vinay and Harry met River Song and initially assumed that she was the cook. They looked after her when she injured her ankle by falling down the stairs, watching the entirety of Pride and Prejudice with her, and later found her in a cross-stitch, in George Mortimer's diaries and in The Midnight Waves. They used the books to follow her time tutoring Harry's father in the 1960s and were interrupted by her return whilst Vinay was proposing to Harry with a hoover attachment instead of a ring.
Vinay and Harry got married almost immediately, wearing two of Harry's father's suits, exchanging two of his grandmother's rings and allowing River to officiate the ceremony on the beach. Over the years, during which they lived together at Hideaway and had children, they went on several honeymoons with River. They later had grandchildren, whom River visited.
