Return of the Cybermen was the first release in the sixth series of The Lost Stories. It was based on the original drafts of the TV story Revenge of the Cybermen originally written by Gerry Davis, the scripts were adapted by John Dorney and featured Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Sadie Miller as Sarah Jane Smith and Christopher Naylor as Harry Sullivan.
Publisher's summary
The Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan return to Space Station Nerva in search of the TARDIS. Instead, they find peril, disease and... Cybermen!
These cybernetic monsters have devised a plan to eliminate the greatest threat to their existence. And if the Doctor and his human compatriots do not play their part in this scheme, they are to be destroyed.

The Cybermen

Notes
- Sadie Miller, who recreates the role of Sarah Jane Smith, is the daughter of the character's original actress Elisabeth Sladen.
- This story was recorded on 4 and 11 November 2019 at Audio Sorcery.
- An alternate ending to this story was written by John Dorney and scrapped. It originally explained how this story could coincide with Revenge of the Cybermen by including a Time Lord appearing at the end of the final part. The failure of the Doctor's mission on Skaro in Genesis of the Daleks would have been explained to be causing history to rewrite itself, which would in turn rewind the events of this story and cause Revenge of the Cybermen to occur instead, as well as other issues such as the separate accounts of the lives of Mary Shelley and Joan Redfern. The Time Lord would have vanished after insinuating that the Doctor's actions had caused a Time War.[1]
