Oxley Woods was located in the Essex town of Epping. In 1970, a formation of Nestene spheres landed in the wood. At the same time, the TARDIS materialised there, carrying the newly-regenerated Third Doctor. By 2011, the Sanderson & Grainger department store had unknowingly been built atop the still-buried cyber-ship. In 2011, the ship and its Cybermen passengers began to reactivate, a Cybermat routing electricity to it. Several people disappeared from the surface.
