The Doctor Who photo novelisations were a series of prose adaptations of Doctor Who episodes, published by Pearson. Like the series of The Sarah Jane Adventures photo novelisations they followed, they contained minimal text descriptions alongside photos from the epiwere part of a school reading programme that taught children how to read. All Doctor Who photo novelisations were suitable for fluent plus readers. They only had a few text and a lot of photos, which illustrated the text.
They were released in three groups. The first set of four, released in 2012, was based on episodes from Doctor Who series 5; two were written by Trevor Baxendale, who had previously composed the SJA novelisations, and two were written by Peter Gutierrez, whose books contained much less text than Baxendale's.
The next set of three were released in 2018. Notably, these novelisations were attributed to the actual authors of the series 8 episodes on which they were based. A final batch of three novelisations based on series 9 were released two and a half months later.
