Butetown

Butetown was a district in Cardiff, approximate to Tiger Bay.

In the mid 20th century, Butetown was smoke-filled with confined narrow streets. Its proximity to the docks meant that its brothels and pubs were frequented by dockworkers, sailors, waifs and "strays from every corner of the globe". Butetown was home to immigrants from countries including Italy, China and Ireland. The immigrants who called Butetown home included the family of Michael Bellini. The series 1 version of the Torchwood website stated that the wedding of Sally Newman and Alan Perkins took place at St John's in Butetown on 12 April 1964 at 3pm. [1]

Though it's possible that a real world location doesn't exist in the same geographic space in the Doctor Who universe, such cases are few and far between. Thus, the map to the right is probably a good indicator of the DWU location of Butetown.
