The Exterminator series of Battles in Time trading cards was the original set, introducing 277 cards.

It was launched in September 2006 with a special card mounted magazine issue which included four packs of trading cards. Additional packs were also available to purchase separately.
The set saw a twelve-week trial run in certain regions of the United Kingdom in spring 2006, with only the first 85 cards being available. All of these cards were from Series 1 of the revival era, with the first card being a preview of the then new Tenth Doctor.

The cards saw a trial run in Wales in 2005, with the first 85 cards of the exterminator set being the only ones available during the trial. All of these cards are from the first series of the revival era, with the first in the set being a preview of next year's 10th Doctor.

The nationwide release of this set was announced in a press release from GE Fabbri Ltd. on 7 June 2006, with the launch date confirmed on 12 September 2006.

The Exterminator series consisted of a 275 cards being numbered from 001 to 275 featuring graphics from Series One and Two of the television series. (Each card also carried its particular series numbering in the bottom right corner).
They launched later in September 2006 along with the magazine, the first issue included two packs of cards, and an exclusive "Psychic Paper" card, which had a window of red cellophane that allowed you to read hidden messages on six bonus cards. Additional packs were also available to purchase separately.

The Exterminator series consisted of 275 cards, being numbered from 001-275 featuring characters from TV: Rose-Doomsday. They were split into the following categories:
* 231 (C) Common Cards
* 231 (C) Common cards (8 in every pack)
* 28 (R) Rare Cards (Foil printed, one in every pack)
* 28 (R) Rare cards (1 in every pack)
* 10 (SR) Super Rare (Embossed foil printed, scratch 'n sniff, glow in the dark, or holo foil printed, found in one in every six packs)
* 10 (SR) Super-Rare cards (1 in every 6 packs)
* 6 (UR) Ultra Rare (Special feature cards with lenticular changing images, found in one in twenty-four packs)
* 6 (UR) Ultra-Rare cards (1 in every 24 packs)

* 1 Golden Ticket card (1 in every 1000 packs)
The much sought after, gold ticket card (of Rose Tyler possessed by the Time Vortex), remained available in every thousand packs and was of a thicker, gold foiled and unnumbered card.

Certain non-character cards also required the use of an unnumbered 'Psychic Paper' card to read. This card was included unpacked with the first issue of the Battles in Time magazine, and could also be found in regular packs of Exterminator cards. The Psychic Paper card had a window of red cellophane that allowed the scrambled text to be read clearly. This gimmick was discontinued part-way through the Exterminator run and was never continued in future sets. All cards with a coded message also had an uncoded variant.

The Exterminator series of Battles in Time trading cards was the original set, introducing 277 cards.

The set saw a twelve-week trial run in certain regions of the United Kingdom in spring 2006, with only the first 85 cards being available. All of these cards were from Series 1 of the revival era, with the first card being a preview of the then new Tenth Doctor.[1][1]

Overview[[edit] | [edit source]]

The nationwide release of this set was announced in a press release from GE Fabbri Ltd. on 7 June 2006,[2] with the launch date confirmed on 12 September 2006.[3]

 • Two packs from this set came with DWBIT 1, and one pack with DWBIT 2-DWBIT 12.
 • A mixed Exterminator & Annihilator pack, which included 6 cards from each set, came with DWBIT 12-DWBIT 25.
