Novelisation
- This novelisation is based on the original television serial DW: Fury from the Deep, written by Victor Pemberton and shown from 16 March 1968.
- The cover and information shown on the right is for the original Target novel. It featured the artwork of David McAlistair. (See below for information on editions with different covers).

- It was felt that Victor Pemberton’s adaptation of his televised story as a novelisation, even though it had a much higher word count, should not be cut down. It was released as a bumper volume with an increased cover price of £1.95 (UK).
