Rumours
- The Doctor gets trapped in the Medusa Cascade, and Rose, Donna, Martha, Jack, Mickey and Sarah Jane must try to free him.
- Martha joins Captain Jack at Torchwood. Possible, as reports show Martha and Mickey leaving with Jack at the end of the episode. Also it is known that as of Exit Wounds, Jack needs a medic to replace Owen Harper. However it is uncertain whether it is the end of the episode or during.
- Mickey joins Captain Jack at Torchwood. As the above, possibly to replace Toshiko Sato, as he has been known for his talents of hacking into secure government systems, such as in The Christmas Invasion when he hacked into the UNIT database. However it is uncertain whether it is the end of the episode or during.
- It is rumoured that one of the companions will die. Some believe it will be Rose; some say it will be Donna (As Rose said she would), and some think it will be Martha (In reference to the conversation between Martha and her clone in The Poison Sky over how much life Martha seems to have.) However, it is surprising that the BBC would announce the death of a character in the episode information rather than leave it for a surprise. Therefore the death may not be permanent. However it was stated by The Beast that Rose would die in battle. Perhaps foreshadowing her demise?
- Donna will sacrifice herself to seal the Medusa Cascade but the Doctor goes back in time to wipe her memory of the events in the Runaway Bride so she won't come looking for him and therefore die. Utterly nonsensical as if this occurred it would create a time paradox that would cancel itself out. Furthermore Rose told Donna that she would still die no matter what way she turned. The Doctor is allowed to change events which would normally cause Paradoxes while in the TARDIS.
- Rose decides to go back to Pete's World, however, Captain Jack recruits Mickey, so he decides to stay in our universe. Possible as Rose is not appearing in anything beyond Journey's End. It is also possible Mickey will crossover to Torchwood as he and Martha are seen leaving with Jack at one point in the episode.'
- Dalek Caan has found Davros but his only reward is to be chained up and tortured. At the end of the episode, however, Caan breaks free and exterminates Davros.
- With the above rumour, Davros could use an Emergency Temporal Shift just before Caan exterminates him, with Donna being shot instead.
- The Doctor is shot down by Dalek Caan (if the rumour above is untrue). Likely, as the sypnosis says the Doctor is powerless. Also, pictures leaked onto the internet show the Doctor lying on the ground, with Rose at his side. Footage was also leaked onto YouTube showing David Tennant running, then falling and rolling onto a crashmat. This may happen in the stolen earth and rose brings him back to life as she still has some of the tardis enery left in her.
- The Doctor dies and regenerates. Untrue, Tennant has been seen filming the 2009 specials.
- The episode will end with three Cybermen pointing their guns at the Doctor while in his TARDIS. They request his help to locate the "Eye of Gorgana" in 1896's London. The Doctor traditionally ends it saying "What?!".
