Spider's Shadow was part of the one hundred and ninth monthly Doctor Who audio release produced by Big Finish Productions. It is the only single part story featuring the Seventh Doctor in the main role. The last single part story in which Sylvester McCoy portrayed the Seventh Doctor was in the 1996 television movie.
Publisher's summary
It is the eve of battle and the Martial Princesses Louise and Alison are hosting a royal ball. But there are unwelcome visitors in the garden and a sequence of events spiralling out of control. And what's more, the Doctor doesn't even remember arriving.

Notes
- REF: AHistory arbitrarily places this story in 3087, as it seems to be set on an Earth colony in the future.
- In an episode of The Big Finish Podcast, Nick Briggs claimed that he in fact wrote this story, but decided to let Stewart Sheargold take the credit, figuring it would get better reviews without his name on it.[1]
Continuity
- The Doctor again mentions that he and Death are friends. (AUDIO: The Death Collectors)
