A tricorder held by the Doctor. (COMIC: Assimilation²)

A tricorder was a device used by Starfleet personnel. Lieutenant Data provided one to the Eleventh Doctor to guide him through Locutus' cube when he travelled back to the Battle of Wolf 359. The Doctor found the device "a little clunky, but reliable." Using the tricorder in tandem with his sonic screwdriver, the Doctor acquired a copy of the Borg Collective's executive routines for use in his and Starfleet's conflict against the Cybermen. (COMIC: Assimilation²)
