St Gart's Bankside Hospital

Talk about it here.

St Gart's Brookside Hospital was a general hospital in London, England, a part of the Euro Combine Health Administration. The Seventh Doctor and Ace infiltrated the institution on 12 October 2021 to investigate its "C-Programme" and its possible connection to a Cyberman invasion. Ace pretended to be a member of the hospital's human resources division. She met Thomas Hector "Hex" Schofield, a nurse on staff there. Hex's help with the Cyber-threat earned him a place in the TARDIS at the end of the investigation. (AUDIO: The Harvest)

The hospital existed as far back as 1965 as Rachel Jensen was told that the corpse of one of the missing scientists she was tracking was taken there. (AUDIO: Manhunt)

In the far future, radio and television broadcasts concerning St. Gart's could be accessed via the Gogglebox inside the Moon. (AUDIO: The Reaping, The Gathering)

People associated with the hospital

Members of staff at the time of the Doctor's visit included Hex, Dr Stephen Farrer, executive security officer David Garnier, and Dr Mark Mathias. Patients included the anonymous Subject One, and Damien Boyd (a former flatmate of Hex). Somewhere between patient and employee was Polk, a former patient of another division of C-Programme, who at times seemed to work for Dr Farrer, and at other times was used as a basis of comparison with Subject One. (AUDIO: The Harvest)

Behind the scenes

The hospital's name is a reference to the soap opera Brookside, set in Liverpool and which starred Philip Olivier.
