Unlike other fictional universes, the Doctor Who universe is created solely by fiction. To us, this is not a valid source. Information from this source can only be used in "behind the scenes" sections, or on pages about real world topics.
Doctor Who Character Encyclopedia was a fully illustrated reference book by Jason Loborik, Annabel Gibson & Moray Laing. It covers characters featured in the series' nearly fifty years of Doctor Who, from "An Unearthly Child" airing in 1963 to The Snowmen in 2012.

Notable features
- Each page entry comprises an annotated isolated central image, with accompanying screenshots and photographic images, along with a Data File box detailing homeworld / origin, occupation, special attributes, and Doctors met.
- Clara - the Impossible Girl is the most recent of entries, as she featured in The Snowmen, broadcast Christmas 2012.
- This laminated hardback book was priced £12.99 (UK).
Errors
- The table of contents features multiple errors:
- Adam Mitchell is listed before Ace despite the entries themselves being presented in the correct alphabetical order, though their respective page numbers are correct.
- The entry for the Movellans - a robotic species - is not listed, but appears on page 121.
