Rose Tyler, also called Briefing: Rose Tyler and prefixed as Operations Board: Rose Tyler on the story's page, was the twelfth short story and seventeenth release exclusively published on the U.N.I.T. website on 14 May 2005[nb 1] by the BBC webteam to coincide with the broadcast of Father's Day. Rose Tyler was the fifth release in the Operations Board series of in-universe chat logs between UNIT personnel.
Plot
Sgt Catherine Petts submits a report on Rose Tyler to an operations board to other UNIT officers. Among the information given, one piece particularily stands out: Mickey Smith — Rose's boyfriend - runs a website, www.whoisdoctorwho.co.uk, which contains sensitive information about UNIT. Sgt A. Frederick is shocked by this information, and J Frinkstein changes the passwords to the website. Major Jenny Maguire suggests leaving the passwords alone and instead swap in misinformation, however Frederick seemingly denies the suggestion.

References
- Rose was born in 1986, making her nineteen, give or take a year.
- Rose comes from a council estate in Kennington, South London.
- Jackie is unemployed, and Peter is deceased.
- Peter died in 1987 — a Temporal Event — UNIT even had a file, 1987/11-Be3a, on several anomalies on that date. It contained reports of flying beasts and missing people.
- Frederick doesn't have enough time to create a fake conspiracy theories and "fudged reports" about aliens.
Notes
- This story vaguely suggests that misinformation could've been placed on the UNIT website, perhaps explaining the unusual dates it attributes to post-2005 Doctor Who television stories.
- This story was the first to depict Annie Frederick as merely a Sergeant, having been depicted as a Staff Sergeant and a Captain previously.
Continuity
- The events of TV: Father's Day are referenced.
- Mickey's website would be later seen in TV: The Runaway Bride.
