Publisher's summary

Under Missy’s guiding hand, the Vulpreen are ready to strike out, to establish themselves as the new Masters of Time. UNIT's confrontation with Missy in the depths of Portugal's Douro Valley will decide the fate of not just the Earth but the whole Universe.

Plot

On a planet in the Andromeda galaxy, Missy holds Harry and Naomi in a stasis chamber and uses them as leverage to force Kate and Josh to disarm. She activates a biomagnetic field with her umbrella to restrain the two of them and claims that she intends to save the universe from the time glitches, caused by the Vulpreen's escape from the Void World. Before then, however, she plans to take control of the Vulpreen and use them to conquer the universe. Kate attracts the planet's carnivores with her blood to distract Missy, allowing her and Josh to save Harry and Naomi.

Osgood and Jimmy arrive in the Douro Valley and find that the area is full of hypnotised people and a Vulpreen army. They meet Hugo, a guide who hopes to save his wife and daughter, and go with him to a shelter before heading to Missy's villa.
