Rumours
- The remaining Daleks (presumably originating from The Medusa Cascade) are under Davros' control and invade UNIT, based on what seen in the trailer.
- Davros will return as the main villain in this episode.
- A main character may die, possibly Donna as she does not appear in the Christmas Special.
- Davros is trapped in the Medusa Cascade (RTD said the Medusa Cascade would "come back to haunt us"), which is the reason the Doctor sealed it during the Time War. Rose finds a way back, and Davros and the Daleks subsequently do the same. Rose amends this at the end of Joruney's End, but not before the Doctor gets hit by a Dalek (YouTube footage shows David Tennant lying on the floor, with Rose by his side)
- Gwen Cooper has been rumoured to enter the world of Doctor Who for the first time in this episode briefly with Captain Jack, while Ianto Jones is rumoured to return following his first appearance in Army of Ghosts & Doomsday. This will be Eve Myles's second appearance on Doctor Who, her first as a character similar to Gwen, Gwyneth, who appeared in the Series 1 episode "The Unquiet Dead. Gwyneth first opened the Cardiff rift, where Gwen works in Torchwood.
- Davros is the darkness. This maybe true as everyone is scared of it e.g the Toclafane and Rose Tyler says the Darkness is coming. What?
- At the end of this episode The Doctor is injured by some-one or something. At the beginning of The Christmas Special, The Doctor regenerates. This isn't true as David Tennant has signed for the Christmas Special in 2008, and 3 specials in 2009. However it may still be possible that David Morresey is the 11th Doctor
- Journey's End could refer to the "Darkness's" journey across the universe, as described in Turn Left by Rose Tyler.
- Davros is helping Dalek Caan create a new army of Daleks.
- Rumoured to feature Jenny, the Doctor's Daughter, Luke, Clyde and Maria from The Sarah Jane Adventures, K9, and Harriet Jones.
- In a shock development in this episode, a Dalek casing opens to reveal Harriet Jones, the mother of all the new Daleks.
- A Red Dalek will appear. This could be the one containing Harriet Jones.
- The Eighth-Ninth Doctor Regeneration is explained.
- Rumoured that Donna is hit by a car in a scene near the end of the episode and loses all her memories of travelling with the Doctor, therefore staying on Earth. Likely, as footage from YouTube shows pictures of Donna lying on the ground in front of a car with Rose kneeling at her side. Also, Catherine Tate confirmed she would not appear in 2009.
- Donna may appear in the Christmas Special if she is not killed off. Highly unlikely.
