The '''eighteenth season''' of ''[[Doctor Who]]'' ran between [[30th August]] [[1980]] and [[21st March]] [[1981]]. From ''[[Full Circle]]'' onwards, the season featured a story arc involving [[E-Space]] and the return of [[the Master]]. It was the last season to feature [[Tom Baker]] as the [[Fourth Doctor]]; it also saw the departure of [[Romana]] and [[K-9]]. It was the first season produced by [[John Nathan-Turner]], who instituted a number of changes: the stories became darker and more adult in tone, the 1966 [[Delia Derbyshire]] arrangement of the "[[Doctor Who theme]]" was retired in favour of a new arrangement, and a new series logo was introduced.
