Empire of the Wolf was the story published in the Doctor Who: Empire of the Wolf miniseries in 2021, starring the Eighth and Eleventh Doctors.

Despite being promoted as a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Eighth Doctor's debut, the story arguably contains more elements from "modern" Doctor Who media, most notably the return of Rose Tyler, at a time which postdates the events of Journey's End in her personal timeline. As such, it offered yet another account of Rose's life with the so-called Meta-Crisis Tenth Doctor which bore a closer resemblance to, but was still fundamentally different from that which was established in The Turning of the Tide.

Another central aspect to the story was the return of the alternate version of Rose, introduced in Alternating Current.
