Spider's Shadow (audio story)
Spider's Shadow was the following one-part story comprising part of the one hundred and ninth release in Big Finish's monthly range. It was written by Nicholas Briggs but credited to Stewart Sheargold and featured Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor.
It is the only single part story featuring the Seventh Doctor in the main role. The last single part story in which Sylvester McCoy portrayed the Seventh Doctor was in the 1996 TV movie.
Publisher's summary
It is the eve of battle and the Martial Princesses Louise and Alison are hosting a royal ball. But there are unwelcome visitors in the garden and a sequence of events spiralling out of control. And what's more, the Doctor doesn't even remember arriving.

- In an episode of The Big Finish Podcast, Nick Briggs claimed that he in fact wrote this story, but decided to let Stewart Sheargold take the credit, figuring it would get better reviews without his name on it.[1]
- This story leads in directly from The Death Collectors.
- This audio drama was recorded on 17-18 March 2008 at the Moat Studios.[2]
- REF: AHistory arbitrarily places this story in 3087, as it seems to be set on an Earth colony in the future.
Continuity
- The Doctor again mentions that he and Death are friends, as he did in AUDIO: The Death Collectors [+]Loading...["The Death Collectors (audio story)"]. The Doctor's relationship with Death was established in AUDIO: Master [+]Loading...["Master (audio story)"].
