Rumours
- The Master might return as the sounds of the drums in head was heard in 'The Stolen Earth' when Harriet Jones appeared on the laptop in Sylvia Noble's home.
- Donna might be a Time Lord because in ' The Stolen Earth ' when the Doctor and Donna where with the Judoon, Donna sat on the stairs while Donna's heart beat was heard this could be two hearts!!!
- The Doctor gets trapped in the Medusa Cascade, and Rose, Donna, Martha, Jack, Mickey and Sarah Jane must try to free him. This happens in The Stolen Earth but The Doctor escapes using the communication Harriet Jones uses.
- Robert Carlyle replaces David Tennant as the Doctor. Not true, because David Tennant is staying on until 2010.
- Christopher Eccleston (due to the 1 second lapse in the Medusa Cascade) comes back and towards the end of the episode dies and regenerates back to David Tennant. Kind of like how he did it in the finale last season. Possible? (Hopeful)
- David Tennant is still the Doctor, but the companions in the Tardis suss out that the hand can help him in his regeneration as it contains the 10th Doctor's biological code.
- Martha joins Captain Jack at Torchwood. Possible, as reports show Martha and Mickey leaving with Jack at the end of the episode. Also it is known that as of Exit Wounds, Jack needs a medic to replace Owen Harper. However it is uncertain whether it is the end of the episode or during. This is false, Martha Jones stays at a UNIT base in New York.
- Mickey joins Captain Jack at Torchwood. As the above, possibly to replace Toshiko Sato, as he has been known for his talents of hacking into secure government systems, such as in The Christmas Invasion when he hacked into the UNIT database. However it is uncertain whether it is the end of the episode or during. This is false as Mickey Smith doesn't appear in this episode.
- It is rumoured that one of the companions will die. Some believe it will be Rose; some say it will be Donna (As Rose said she would, and there were also hints elsewhere in the series), and some think it will be Martha. It is more likely to be Martha as Donna is rumoured to be alive at the very end of the series. Leaked videos confirm that Donna survives and, regarding hints of her dying, it is worth remembering that she has already "died" in Turn Left. However, Rose DOES NOT return to Pete's world as she is returning in the 2009 specials and probably in the Christmas Special. Billie Piper also said, in a interview with DWM "You can go back whenever you want". Besides, Pete's World is destroyed. Although there are clips of Martha is seen leaving with Jack it is uncertain as this occurs at the end of the episode or during. It is also possible that this rumour is referring to Jack, since he would just come back; while it may also refer to Gwen Cooper (as she and Ianto are not in leaked photos near the end of the episode) and the rumor was playing on speculation that a female companion would die. And, even if a companion dies, chances are the Doctor would find a way to restore them, as a major theme of the Tenth Doctor has been resurrection.
- Jenny is rumored to return in the finale, it could be her who will die only to have a regeneration. She does meet the "needs" to be a companion although it is unlikely they would bring her back just to kill her again. The same concept can also apply to Rose. The rumours stated that: A female we know very well will die. It does not say "A companion", meaning it could be Harriet Jones who dies. Alternatively, it could be Sylvia Noble who dies. YouTube footage shows Wilf and Sylvia Noble confronted by a Dalek exclaiming: "Exterminate!", but another YouTube video shows Donna being returned to Wilf by the Doctor, at the end of the episode. The likelihood is that it will be either Harriet Jones or Sylvia Noble (or both) that dies in the final two episodes.
- River Song is also rumoured to briefly appear in this episode. Untrue as she does not recognize Donna in Silence In The Library/Forest Of The Dead. But dont forget River did know who she was. Remember her face when Donna introduced herself to her?Plus Russel T Davis mentioned 'something from every episode will appear or be connected in the season finale'. She could be appearing at the very end, as a set up to the Christmas story/next secson ala Donna Noble. This is false.
- Nobody from Torchwood/ Sarah Jane Advetures will be killed as they are in the parent series and not in their own. It would throw people who just watch these series and not Doctor Who and if a person was killed in the spin-offs, people would ask, "Where have such and such a gone?". They could be brought back to life at the end, which could result in Owen Harperand Toshiko Sato to be reserected, as RTD said he would be “re-setting” what he has done.
- Davros has been turning humans into daleks. This is not true, Davros army consists of Daleks created from his own sin cells (What's the crucible for then?)
- Donna Noble is revealed to be a Time Lord as she hears the beating of the drums while sitting on steps at the Shadow Proclomation.
