- This novelisation is based on the original television serial usually called DW: Planet of Giants, which included individual episode titles. It was written by Louis Marks and shown from 31 October 1964.
- The cover and information on the right are for the original Target novel. It featured the artwork of Alister Pearson. (See below for information on editions with different covers).
