St Gart's Brookside Hospital was a general hospital in London, England, a part of the Euro Combine Health Administration. The Seventh Doctor and Ace infiltrated the institution on 12 October 2021 to investigate its "C-Programme" and its possible connection to a Cyberman invasion. Ace pretended to be a member of the hospital's human resources division. She met Thomas Hector "Hex" Schofield, a nurse on staff there. Hex's help with the Cyber-threat earned him a place in the TARDIS at the end of the investigation.

People associated with the hospital

Members of staff at the time of the Doctor's visit included Hex, Dr Stephen Farrer, executive security officer David Garnier, and Dr Mark Matthias. Patients included the anonymous Subject One, and Damien Boyd (a former flatmate of Hex). Somewhere between patient and employee was Polk, a former patient of another division of C-Programme, who at times seemed to work for Dr Farrer, and at other times was used as a basis of comparison with Subject One. Behind the scenes

The hospital was named after the soap opera Brookside, it was an in-joke reference to the fact that Hex, the character the Doctor meets in the hospital, was played by Philip Olivier who's career started in the soap Brookside and was a regular cast member for.[source needed]
