Henry VI, Part 3
Check the behind the scenes section, the revision history and discussion page for additional comments on this article's title.
In Robert Greene's pamphlet A Groatsworth of Wit, he quoted from "one of the Henrys", part of a series of plays by William Shakespeare.
By the 21st century, Greene was relatively unknown as a playwright and poet in his own right, being best known for the pamphlet due to the information it contained about Shakespeare's works. As one employee of Books Unltd noted, it "gave a big clue to the dating of the early stuff" because Greene quoted from "one of the Henrys" and was known to written the piece on his deathbed in 1592. Behind the scenes
Although Henry VI, Part 3 is not explicitly named, it is clearly the play referenced. The line which Greene quotes, "Tygers heart wrapt in a Players hyde", alludes to the line "O tiger's heart wrapped in a woman's hide" and does appear in the comic story A Groatsworth of Wit, but is not specifically identified.
