By most accounts, the Powell Estate was located there, (COMIC: Silver Scream [+]Loading...["Silver Scream (comic story)"], PROSE: Downtime: Child of the New World [+]Loading...["Downtime: Child of the New World (novel)"], AUDIO: Ghosts [+]Loading...["Ghosts (DWR audio story)"], etc.) although one dissenting account stated that the Powell Estate was located in Kennington. (PROSE: Rose Tyler [+]Loading...["Rose Tyler (short story)"]) As such, Powell Estate resident Rose Tyler came from Peckham. (PROSE: Dalek [+]Loading...["Dalek (novelisation)"])

The Tenth Doctor once claimed that his accent came from "the Powell Estate in Peckham," which made his conversant — silent film star Archie Maplin — reveal that he grew up in the district. (COMIC: Silver Scream [+]Loading...["Silver Scream (comic story)"])
