The Enterprise transporter in use. (COMIC: Assimilation²)

Transporters were teleportation devices similar to transmats used for instantaneous transport by the United Federation of Planets in a parallel universe. Transporters were used in Federation facilities as well as the vessels of their Starfleet. Transport was initiated by the vocal command "energize". (COMIC: Assimilation²)

The Sixth Doctor had a matter transporter in his TARDIS. (HOMEVID: A Fix with Sontarans)

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

The unique radiation of the planet Aprilia III prevented use of USS Enterprise's transporter, forcing Captain James T. Kirk to use the shuttlecraft Galileo to visit the planet.

When Delta IV was invaded by the Borg-Cyberman Fleet, the Deltan Prime Minister was, despite her protests, taken to a transporter where she and her entourage were transported safely to the secure command center.

Aboard the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D), the transporter was used to transport an away team consisting of Commander William Riker, Lieutenants Data and Worf as well as the Eleventh Doctor and his companions, Amy Pond and Rory Williams, to the surface of Cogen V. After witnessing the aftermath of the battle between the Borg and the Cybermen, the team was transported back to the Enterprise alongside a deactivated sentry drone which had been recovered by the Eleventh Doctor. Also taken aboard the ship were the dead bodies of a Borg and a Cyberman. (COMIC: Assimilation²)

Upon being brought to the Doctor's universe, Brad Boimler asked if they were in the Mirror Universe, noting that he couldn't handle another doppelgänger of himself; when River Song answered that he was not, Boimler hoped that there would not be any transporter accidents. Other references[[edit] | [edit source]]

"Beam me up, Scotty" was a quote associated with Star Trek. (PROSE: Eternity Weeps, TV: Warriors of Kudlak, Closing Time) Andy Davidson suggested that Torchwood Cardiff get themselves a teleporter "like in Star Trek", that it would "save a lot of bother". Jack Harkness responded that he would bear it in mind. (AUDIO: Asylum) Craig Owens compared the Cybermen's teleporter to something out of Star Trek, mentioning the phrase "Beam me up". (TV: Closing Time) Rose Tyler used the same phrase to describe Lect's transmat, (COMIC: Weapons of Past Destruction) and later asked Pete to "beam [her and Clive] up" back to Pete's World, with their dimension cannon. (AUDIO: The Flood) When Tom realised he didn't have a pen on him, his bookseller, Lucretia, made a joke by saying that he should have one "beamed up" to him. (AUDIO: Wildthyme at Large)
