New York Blaze was a short story printed in TV Century 21 that contained elements from the Doctor Who universe. Framed as the front page of an in-universe periodical, the titular article instead made reference to the Fireball XL5 comic story The Giant Ant Invasion [+]Loading...["The Giant Ant Invasion (comic story)"], a part of a multi-series crossover with the DWU.

- While the desperate battle against the giant animals continues all over the world, New York is faced with destruction from a massive fire at the main heliport terminal.
- High winds have sprung up and are fanning the three hundred foot high flames belching from the blazing building.
- New Jersey's firecopters are now attempting to put out the blaze.
- The W.A.S.P. vessel Stingray is continuing its search for the missing bathyscaphe B1 which is lost with Marshal Ketov aboard. World President Nikita Bandranaik has ordered a full scale alert in an effort to find the missing B1.
