Why are the sonic screwdriver stories kept together when he should have one in every story after Lungbarrow?

More because think of like seasons 6-20, he has a sonic screwdriver and he uses it constantly, there isnt like a ten adventure gap between use of the sonic ever. confidering there are only a handful of sonic screwdriver stories I think that they should go together, but it you have a strong oppinion otherwise I will just agree with you. The Doctor leaves Chris behind to take Penelope Gate and Joel Mintz back to their proper homes, but decides to give them a spin in the TARDIS first. (PROSE: The Room With No Doors)
While the Doctor is waiting for someone at the Café in Glebe from Set Piece, he meets Robin Yeadon, and the two discuss Ace and the events of Nightshade. The Doctor knows when Ace will die.
The Doctor catches up with a 37-year-old Ace following the defeat of the Voltranons.
The Doctor obliquely claims to have lost someone in "a war", and to have kept someone else in it "for too long". He is most likely referring to Roz and Chris, respectively.
The Doctor has an encounter with Victoria Waterfield, but she doesn't recognise him. He has dark hair, a panama hat and is wearing a linen suit. He delivers a letter to Victoria written by Jamie McCrimmon after they parted ways.

The Doctor has recently encountered Romana on Gallifrey, and the TARDIS has been "newly redecorated", setting this shortly after Lungbarrow. He is wearing his linen suit and knows he will regenerate soon, but intends to resolve his unfinished business first. After recovering the portrait he drew of Romana in City of Death, the TARDIS lands at its next destination where the Doctor intends to resume his mission, setting this shortly before Doctor Who.

He returns to Cheldon Bonniface, chronologically after the events of "Happy Endings" so it’s like after that story in his own personal timeline too. He helps his next incarnation broker peace between the humans and aliens living in the village.
The Doctor asks Benny to help him find Ace, who he had left on Gallifrey, setting this after Lungbarrow. While the Doctor is wearing his cream linen suit on the cover, dialogue describes him as wearing his question mark pullover.
Ace asks the Doctor if she can stay with him until she is ready to return to Gallifrey, and the Doctor convinces Benny to join them for a while.

Benny and Ace attempt to steal the Eye of Horus from a museum in Geneva and the Doctor is transported to Egypt. The TARDIS sound effects match his white console room.

The Doctor, Benny and Ace investigate a stolen Time Ring at the Trib Museum. They then monitor the thieves, Harmonious 14 Zink and his wife, 1V Magda. At some point afterwards, Benny leaves the TARDIS again. The Doctor sends Ace on a mission to stop Zink and Magda discovering the secrets of a cult before its time., with her following them to Erratoon. (AUDIO: The Prisoner's Dilemma)
While on Erratoon, Ace's mind is completely wiped. She is rescued by the Doctor and he tells her that he can restore her memories. However, she does not entirely believe him and is unsure if she should trust him. Ace refers to Happy Endings and Nightshade, and vaguely remembers Benny, placing this explicitly after Set Piece. After her memory is restored, Ace worries that whole chunks of her life might be missing and she would never know.

Klein's revenge[[edit] | [edit source]]

While authorial intent places this after Kingdom of Silver[1], the Doctor is depicted as young looking, is wearing his linen suit and is wistful about travelling alone. After bumping into Elizabeth Klein again, the Doctor insists on her accompanying him on his travels so that he can keep an eye on her, knowing she will continue to pose a threat to history.
Set immediately after A Thousand Tiny Wings. The TARDIS is using its Victorian parlour interior.
After travelling together for a while, Klein takes her chance of revenge on the Doctor by stealing his TARDIS and abandoning him on the planet of the Vrill.
After Klein left him on the Vrill homeworld, the Doctor found time shifting around him until he arrived in an alternate timeline created by Klein, where he remained a prisoner for three days. After Klein is erased from history by the Time Lords, the Doctor visits UNIT to find a different version of Klein now working for them.

The Doctor believes he is getting old, but not old enough to stop having new adventures and new companions. He has decided to revisit old friends and resolve "old business". Ace is "somewhere else" and has been for some time. Mags joins the Doctor on his travels.
Mags has been in the TARDIS for a while, and the Doctor is helping her to control the wolf part of her.
After she and the Doctor respond to a space-time telegraph sent by Ace from Earth, Mags is bitten by a Sin Eater, and her wolf side disappears, with Doctor theorising that it won't return for "about a year."

While visiting Peri Brown, the Doctor is described as being "small and old", implying he has his aged appearance from Doctor Who.

The TARDIS has it's Victorian parlour interior design and the Doctor thinks back to his failures in Excelis Decays, Project: Lazarus and Master.

The Doctor is using the Victorian parlour console room. An encounter with the grey men makes the Doctor accept that they will be coming after him again, but he notes that time is on his side and begins preparing for the eventuality of their next encounter, which happens in his next incarnation.
The Doctor spends "many years" in the Daleks' prison curing Light wave sickness while the Second Great Dalek Occupation is fought. The Doctor immediately recognises Kalendorf as a Knight of Velyshaa, setting this after The Sirens of Time.
The Doctor is portrayed with the aged appearance he had in Doctor Who. The Doctor decides to go into retirement, citing the fact that he seems to always been on call and can never settle in one place. The Doctor invites Jevvan to travel with him, but she declines.

Set after Dominion, with the TARDIS control room having the Victorian parlour console room design from Doctor Who. The Doctor is nearing the end of his current life, and has been trying to eradicate evil before his end. He is joined in his search for the persuasion machine by Klien and Will Arrowsmith.
The Doctor recalls his previous encounter with Garundel in Black and White, which happened "a long time ago". The Doctor decides to track Kurt Schalk back to Earth, leading directly into Daleks Among Us.
The Doctor, Klein and Will follow Schalk's trail back to Minos, where they are ambushed by the Daleks.

The Doctor is using the Victorian parlour console room and recognises the Reborn Master, setting this after Dominion.

The Doctor is wearing his clothes from Doctor Who and is as young as he was in the television series, however this is most likely because of the rights issues surrounding images from Doctor Who and he intended to be older. He bumps into his old companions Harry Sullivan and Naomi Cross in the 2010s and learns that his fourth incarnation left them in 21st century London. He invites Harry and Naomi back aboard the TARDIS, with the intention of taking them home after a few stops along the way.
Set immediately after London Orbital, with Harry and Naomi settling back into the TARDIS. They answer a distress call that leads them to an encounter with the Daleks in 1969. The TARDIS has its Victorian parlour interior.

Death[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Doctor reunites with Ace twenty-years after their last meeting from her perspective, with the Doctor himself unable to remember how long it had been for him, implying a setting prior to The Promise. He recruits her to help him defeat the Eleven, but the depths of his machinations causes Ace to fall out with him once again. The Doctor learns from a Dark Citizen that his "last day" is soon approaching, with him bitterly replaying to he will then "get some rest", setting this before The Eight Doctors.
Set during the end of Dark Universe: Part 4. While he is speaking with the Eleven in his cell, the Doctor is cryptically informed of a task he has to complete for the High Council. This is presumably the task he was given in Lungbarrow, to retrieve the Master's remains from Skaro.
After having a "mid-life crisis" whilst dealing with his loneliness and approaching death, the Doctor is inspired to enjoy the time he has left after being rescued from an Eight Leg by his successor, who warns him that the events of Doctor Who will happen "soon". The Doctor then makes plans to reconfigure the TARDIS interior into "something more gothic", and begin rereading The Time Machine while he waits for the psychic message that his future self warned him about. He is wearing his brown jacket and Fair Isle pullover, and misses having a travelling companion.
The Doctor visits Ace at the A Charitable Earth headquarters.
The Doctor is wearing his cream jacket, but is visibly older. He visits Mel while in high spirits, implying a setting shortly after The Eight Doctors, and they decide to take a trip in the TARDIS together.
While lounging in his TARDIS, the Doctor is contacted by the Lord President of the Time Lords, whom is implied to be Romana, and instructed to use a mourning casket to retrieve the Old Master's ashes from Skaro following his trial and execution by the Daleks and return them to Gallifrey, although another account showed the Master himself making the same request. Regardless of whom told him to, the Doctor travels to Skaro and is able to claim the Master's ashes after escaping a Dalek sentry.
The Doctor has got halfway through The Time Machine, setting this sometime after The Eighth Doctor. Transporting the Master's remains from Skaro to Gallifrey, the Doctor is shot in a San Francisco gang shootout when a timing malfunction forces the TARDIS into an emergency landing. Taken to Walker General Hospital by Chang Lee, the Doctor dies when Dr. Grace Holloway's exploratory surgery damages his circulatory system. Despite the anaesthesia halting the process, the Doctor is able to regenerate into his next incarnation in the morgue several hours later.
Set during Doctor Who, with the Doctor reflecting on his life as he inexplicably transports the Master's remains to Vancouver.

The Doctor is older looking and is travelling with Ace, who is depicted as being as young as her early 20s. Ace is killed and the TARDIS's white interior is damaged, with the intent being that it is about to change into the Victorian parlour interior seen in Doctor Who. Any placement for this story will be contentious because of Ace's apparent death, though it is revealed in Sometime Never... that the Council of Eight were attempting to eliminate the Doctor's past companions, but they were thwarted by the Eighth Doctor, resulting in the restoration of multiple timelines and free will to the universe. Another explanation can be attributed to Braxiatel's manipulations that were established in Assassins. The Doctor's appearance sets this after The End of the Beginning (audio story), and the console room sets it before Excelis Decays. Due to the authorial intent of the console being soon changed to the victorian parlour it should be put shortly before Excelis Decays. This seems to nail down a placement but the editor of DWM stated that it was meant to make it so DWM diverges from the TV continuity, if we take this authorial intent as true we can not use Excelis Decays as evidence and all we know is that the split happens before Excelis Decays, considering that earlier DWM comics were meant to intertwine with the VNAs we can determine that the split takes place after Lungbarrow (novel).
The events of Survival are referenced in the TARDIS data banks. The Doctor doesn't have a sonic screwdriver and has been meaning to build a new one for years. He is wearing his white coat, scarf and hat.
The Doctor is alone and refers to his "younger days", setting this around the time he started feeling old.
