World Emergency (short story)

World Emergency was a short story printed in TV Century 21 that contained elements from the Doctor Who universe. Framed as the front page of an in-universe periodical, the titular article made reference to the Stingray content in the issue with the DWU character of World President Nikita Bandranaik heavily involved in the narrative.

- Troops of the 15th Air-Cavalry Corps have moved into New York to restore order after three days of rioting.
- Four thousand WASP commandos stormed ashore in Holland "yesterday" and crushed a mob army which had been on a rampage in Amsterdam for nearly a week.
- In a statement issued "an hour" ago, the World Security Council appealed for calm and order. Backing this, martial law has been declared in the northern hemisphere with troops moving in to all major cities.
- The World President has called on all members of the Senate to inform their governments that all possible action is being taken to stop the widespread flooding, the root cause of the riots.
- Bandranaik also stated "At this moment, the W.A.S.P. patrol vessel Stingray is at the North Pole with orders to destroy any space aliens responsible for the melting of the Arctic ice cap".
- An Australian Rocket express has crashed outside Sydney. The train is believed to have jumped the tracks while travelling at 160 miles per hour. There were no survivors.
- A Beetle B helijet and a WASP aqua-lorry are both pictured.
